Olin Wiley
Olin started working with Dr. Gavin in the fall of 2022 to put this platform together and to bring it to market for professionals to benefit from.
Olin started his career with New York Life in 1974 in the Peachtree General Office, located in Atlanta, GA. He achieved the notable highlight of becoming both the “Rookie of the Year” as well as the “Agent of the Year.” In 1980, he was promoted to General Manager, becoming one of the youngest to achieve this position. In 1983, Olin became General Manager of the Dearborn, Michigan branch where he increased production by over 100% in 1984 and was named “Manager of the Year.” As a General Manager, Olin supervised a highly diverse sales and management staff, providing him an opportunity to gain firsthand insight into the issues of wealth disparities and financial needs across different racial and ethnic groups. In 1986, Olin left the corporate insurance industry to follow his passion, to enhance the financial future of those in need of independent client-centered services.
Olin has worked extensively with and has been a frequent speaker at professional medical association meetings, including the National Medical Association (NMA), the Association of Black Cardiologists (ABC), the National Medical Fellowships (NMF), and numerous state medical associations. In addition, he worked closely with the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) and the National Association for Equal Opportunity and Higher Education (NAFEO) in efforts to improve the financial health of historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and the varied constituents they serve. In 2005, Olin founded the Philanthropy and Leadership (PAL) Project to address the growing financial needs of HBCUs and the widening wealth gap among minority groups. The PAL Project and NAFEO formed an important alliance to develop the NAFEO MEP that can serve as an essential tool for closing the wealth gap for many individuals.
Olin is a Certified Wealth Counselor, and a member of the Planned Giving Council, Estate Planning Council, and International Association of Financial Planners.
